　　The map below demonstrates that 300 years from 1700 to 2000 witnessed what changes had happened in a town named Bridgetown during this period.

　　Clearly, as can be seen from the map, the town of Bridgetown was made up of two large areas of farmland, a plot of market place, woods and a castle with a river flowing from southwest to northeast and another road running from southeast down to northwest with a bridge which crossed the river in the middle of the road in 1700. To be more precise, two expanses of agricultural land was situated in southeast corner of the town while the market place, woods and castle were located in the north which also were between the river and the main road.

　　When it comes to the map in 2000, it is not difficult to discover that the castle was replaced by a school. Moreover, a new railway line has been constructed beside the road with the same direction of it. Also, there was a bypass connecting with two ends of the road.

　　All in all, quite a lot of changes appeared in Bridgetown within these 300 years.

In such an information-exploding era, children are distracted by a great diversity of sources like computer games. They are so dependent on some social software platforms that they are tempted to keep a watchful eye on new trend of them instead of the schoolwork. What’s more, the overloaded learning stress might be another factor which should be responsible for this problem. Facing the growing intensive stress and too high expectation form parents, the phenomenon that children resist to focus on learning unconsciously is inevitable out of question.

　　In terms of the solution, there are many practical ways for us to reverse this situation. Firstly, parents should be a good example for their children in how to use phone or internet properly. They are also required to monitor the time their children spend on digital device at the same time. On the other hand, it is recommended that parents reflect on themselves whether they have put too much stress on children and adjust the expectation accordingly. Learning under a moderate pressure would be most efficient for children to concentrate. As parents or teachers, they should be clear that how to balance the stress.

　　In conclusion, cultivating children’s capacity to focus on one thing is an indispensable task for parents and teachers. Therefore, teachers and parents should take this into account when they educate children.
