　　Percentage of 16-25 women in sport games

　　The bar chart illustrates the difference between the proportion of people who take part in and the percentage of people who watch sport games. The respondents are young women who aged between 16 and 25.

　　As can be seen from the graph, the percentages of audiences are always higher than its counterparts in these 6 categories, except for the sport of tennis. With a number of 50%, the percentage of women who play tennis is 20% higher than that of those who watch the game.

　　The same difference in the figures can be observed in the group of golf, but in a reverse trend, having 30% female audience watching the match and only 10% who will actually play the game.

　　As for the remaining 4 sports, namely, athletics, basketball, badminton and horse riding and racing, the figures of audiences are still 5%-10% higher than the players, but athletics and basketball tend to attract more people than the other two activities (about 10%), with roughly 20%.

　　To sum up, tennis is the most popular activity among all and other activities seem to attract more audiences.

　　Where the government fund should be allocated has always been a key concern for citizens. Education, as one of the foremost sector of a nation, deserves solid financial support from the government. While some suggest that government funds on tertiary education should only cover the scholarships for the elite students, I hold the opposite opinion.

　　First, we have to understand that capital from private organizations is not sustainable. Since this kind of investment may be withdrawn for any reason such as bankruptcy and corruption, student fees seem to be more reliable. However, if higher education institutes only regard tuition as their major income, student’s tuitions will accordingly rise, which will result in a consequence that fewer students can afford higher education and ultimately affect the development of a nation deal to the short of educated workforce in the labor market. Thus, relying merely on the student fees and funds from private organizations is not reasonable for the operation of a university.

　　What is more, the financial aid from government would be too exclusive that it would contribute little to the education sector if it were provided only for the students who stand out. Since education decides the future of a country, government should not just offer support to certain students. Australia, a country that enjoys a reputation for its high-standard education, is attracting students from all over the world because of the facilitated campus and the professional teaching faculties, which are all funded by the lawmakers. In other words, if universities and colleges can receive sufficient fund, they can be turned into an industry, which creates value for the country.

　　In short, apart from scholarships, government should also pay for some of the maintenance of the facility and the recruitment of staffs, but this kind of aid should be conditional, i.e. only universities that meet the requirement are eligible for the fund. In this way, without burdening the government too much, completion between educational institutions is encouraged.
