地球人都知道：雅思阅读的本质就是同义词替换! 在雅思阅读课上，老师一节课下来说的最多的也是同义词替换。然而你背了那么多，你为啥还做不对题呢?

　　现在用两个题来说明一下：

　　C10-T1-P1 Stepwell

　　T/F/NG

　　原文：When the water level was high, the user needed only to descend a few steps to reach it; when it was low, several levels would have to be negotiated.

　　题目：The number of steps above the water level in a stepwell altered during the course of a year.

　　仔细对照原文和题目两句话，找了半天是不是也没找到同义替换?因为压根儿就没有，我们只能通过对比两句话的意思做出判断。

　　原文：当水位高的时候，使用者只需下几个台阶就能取到水;水位低的时候，需要越过几层阶梯。

　　题目：阶梯井水平面以上的台阶数量在一年中是变化的。

　　通过原文那句话，我们可以推测出，有时候水位高，有时候水位低，而使用者也要根据情况下几个台阶或是下几层阶梯才可以取到水，说明水位上的台阶数应该是时时改变的。所以答案是T

　　总结： 雅思阅读中有80%左右的考点都是同义替换，然而还有一部分是需要上下文推测才能做出的，所以不能轻易看出同义替换的题目，必须要认认真真地理解句子，做出最终的判断。

　　还有一种是识别出了同义替换，仍然选错词，什么鬼?来看一看。

　　C7-T1-P1 Lets’ go bats

　　Complete the sentences below

　　原文：The American zoologist Donald Griffin, who was largely responsible for the discovery of sonar in bats, coined the term ‘echolocation’ to cover both sonar and radar, whether used by animals or by human instruments.

　　题目： The word ‘echolocation’ was first used by someone working as a ______________.

　　这个题出错的还真的不少，大概的逻辑是这样的：’echolocation’ 定位到原文这句话， term = word 肯定答案就在附近了，然后再看，used by 题目和原文都有 , 好了，答案出来了 human instruments .

　　首先animals /human instruments 这两个答案一定不对，因为这个单词一定是单数：…working as a ___________

　　那答案是什么呢?

　　原文：美国的动物学家…发明了这个词。

　　问题：发明这个词的人是做什么的?

　　答案：动物学家(zoologist)

　　总结： 诚然有些题，一眼看过去，如果知道两个词是同义词替换，不用读句子，便知道答案。但是还有很多题，需要定位到文中句子后，通读整句话，进行理解句子，才能做出正确的判断，而不是看到同义词就盲目地做出判断。
