在托福阅读的倒数第二题，通常都是句子插入题，有的同学屡战屡败，总是会插到标准答案的前面一个选项或者插到了正确答案的后面，到底是什么原因，有没有方法保证不会错。当然托福词汇的基础部分我们就不在这里强调了。其实很多答案，待插入的句子里有已经有隐含的信息告诉我们为什么只能放在一个地方而不是其他。

　　大部分待插入的句子都会有一些信号词，比如常见的指代 this，such，so , these ,those 等。在逻辑方面 ，常见的比如because, because of, since, for, as, due to, owing to, result from，in that, so, so that, as a result, therefore, thereby, hence, consequently, accordingly, lead to, cause, result in, give rise to, render, attribute ...to...., factor, induced by, reason, contribute to, account for , thanks to ; 还有一些，大家要注意平时在文章理解中及时总结，特别是细节题中的因果类。

　　接下来我们还是用一道题来讲解一下托福阅读句子插入的一些重点。

　　【待插入句子】

　　This surface feature has led to speculation about what may lie under Mars’s surface.

　　首先我们先看下这里有没有信号词比如指代，逻辑。大家会发现这里有指代词this surface feature， 也就是意味这这个句子前面应该有一些表示表面特征的表达，句子中间有个逻辑词组lead to, speculation ,如果这个词不认识会有一些影响，表示“猜想，猜测”，

　　句子意思：“这一表面特征引发了人们对火星表面下可能埋藏着什么的猜测”。就意味着这个句子的后面应该有进一步的表示火星表面有什么的猜想。带着这样的预判我们来看文章。

　　【待插入段落】

　　The ejecta surrounding the lunar crater is just what one would expect from an explosion ejecting a large volume of dust, soil, and boulders.█ However, the ejecta on Mars gives the distinct impression of a liquid that has splashed or flowed out of crater. █Geologists think that this fluidized ejecta crater indicates that a layer of permafrost, or water ice, lies just a few meters under the surface. █Explosive impacts heated and liquefied the ice, resulting in the fluid appearance of the ejecta. █

　　首先在第一个黑色方框前面The ejecta surrounding the lunar crater is just what one would expect from an explosion ejecting a large volume of dust, soil, and boulders.说的是月球表面的内容。所以不能放在第一个。接下来第二句，However, the ejecta on Mars gives the distinct impression of a liquid that has splashed or flowed out of crater.然而，火星上的喷射物给人一种独特的印象，那就是有液体溅出或流出火山口。这句话说到了火星上的内容，跟题干里的表面特征有关系，我们接下来就看后面是否有对火星表面下面有一些猜测的内容就可以了，如果有提到，正确答案就是B了。后面说Geologists think that this fluidized ejecta crater indicates that a layer of permafrost, or water ice, lies just a few meters under the surface. 地质学家认为，这个流态化的喷口表明，地表下只有几米深的一层永久冻土，或水冰。Think对应了speculation。所以我们的答案肯定是B没错了。

　　所以大家一定要注意仔细分析句子插入题的题干，有很多信息透露着答案。
