　　Alright, so I’m going to talk about the politest person I know, and that would probably be Jacob. Jacob is my older brother, and he’s always been very considerate and respectful to others. In fact, all our family members admire Jacob for his manners.

　　So, as for what he likes to do, Jacob likes to read, write, and cook in his free time. I remember whenever I used to come home, I would see Jacob sitting on the living room sofa with a book in his hand. His favourite subject has always been science, so he would usually be reading a book on the latest scientific research in physics or chemistry. Besides being an expert in science, Jacob is also a very talented cook. He loves to experiment with new recipes in the kitchen, and he would often cook delicious meals for our family.

　　And last of all, as for why I think he is the politest person I know, well, Jacob always speaks in a very polite and respectful manner. He never loses his temper, and he always thinks carefully before he speaks. If he were angry or upset by someone in a conversation, he would just keep his calm and try to find a middle ground. Also, whenever he visits relatives during the holidays, he would always bring individual gifts for them as well as boxes of fruits and desserts. Jacob is truly kind and thoughtful toward his friends and family, and I think we would all agree that he is one of the politest people we know.

　　I think Chinese people show politeness by having good manners and showing respect to the elderly.

　　I suppose it’s just a matter of how respectful and considerate you are, and the standards can vary depending on the culture.

　　Behaviours that are impolite include being rude to other people, interrupting them when they speak, cutting in line, and things like that.

　　Do you think politeness is related to one’s academic background and family environment?

　　I guess to an extent. In my experience, people who are raised in a supportive family environment and have high academic achievement tend to be more polite.

　　Do you think there is a country where people are famous for being polite?

　　Um, I suppose Japan would be considered a country where the average person is known for being polite.
