　　Um, okay, so to get things started, I’ll talk about a time when I encouraged someone to do something that he didn’t want to do. That person is my older brother Frank, who has always been very shy and nervous around new people.

　　What I encouraged him to do was to go to various local meetups for hobbies and interests that he enjoys, like writing or music. Usually, my brother just hangs out with his best friend, and he doesn’t have many social interactions apart of that. He certainly wants to make new friends, but he always feels nervous about approaching people he doesn’t know. Anyway, I gave him a list of local meetups that he could join along with the schedule and locations of those meetups.

　　As for how he reacted, at first, he thanked me but said that he would end up getting too nervous, and that he preferred to explore hobbies and interests on his own. However, I kept pushing him, so he eventually agreed to attend the first writing meetup to see how it would go. And, it turned out that he actually enjoyed the experience and thought it was helpful to be able to share his writing with others and receive feedback.

　　So, the reason I encouraged my older brother to join the meetups was that I thought it would be a great way for him to expand his comfort zone and meet new people. Even though he’s shy and introverted, he has always expressed a desire to connect with others with similar interests, so I felt that this would be a perfect opportunity. In the end, he did enjoy the experience and even made some new friends.

　　I think leaders can encourage their employees by setting a good example for them and giving them proper and effective guidance.

　　When should parents encourage their children?

　　I think parents should encourage their children when they’re having a difficult time at school or have problems getting along with others. It’s also good to just always be encouraging and to have a supportive attitude.

　　What kind of encouragement should parents give?

　　Well, I guess they should give verbal encouragement, like praising the children for things they do well and telling them to believe in themselves.

　　Do you think some people are better than others at persuading?

　　Yes, I do think some people are naturally more persuasive and proficient at communicating with others.
