　　Okay, so a time when my computer broke down was during my first year of university—just a couple years ago. I remember needing to turn in an essay in the morning and then trying to turn on my laptop computer. However, no matter what I pressed, the laptop was frozen on a black screen.

　　As for what I was doing, again, I was prepared to turn in an essay for one of my classes. I even woke up extra early that morning since the deadline would be in a few hours. After trying multiple times to turn on my laptop—even removing the battery and trying again—I became more and more desperate.

　　Anyway, I kept searching on my phone what to do in this situation, how to reboot my laptop, things like that. I ended up trying everything that the online articles suggested, but it was no use, since my laptop was still frozen on the same screen. Then, I decided to head to the nearest computer repair shop to get it fixed, but the repairman said that it would take at least a few hours.

　　As for how I felt about the situation, it definitely gave me a lot of anxiety. I did send an email to my teacher explaining my situation and she was understanding, but I still felt guilty that I had waited until the last day to turn in my essay. The repairman was eventually able to fix my computer, but it cost about 800 RMB to get the hard drive replaced. Anyway, it was certainly a very stressful situation to be in.

　　Um, I think that can be pretty harmful, since it can be a huge waste of their time, which prevents them from doing other things, and it’s also not good for their health.

　　Do you think computers make our lives simpler or more complex?

　　To be honest, I think both. I mean, computers have certainly streamlined communication and made knowledge far more accessible, but the rapid advancement of technology has also made our daily lives more complicated.
