　　Okay, so a piece of international news I heard recently is news about the armed right-wing protestors breaking into the Washington State Capitol, which is clearly a very alarming event.

　　You know, when I first heard the news, I was at home relaxing and watching a movie, and then I decided to scroll through the news on my phone. I came across live updates of the break-in, and I saw frightening pictures of the people smashing windows, entering the hall of the Capitol, and occupying the building. Some of these people were dressed in pro-Trump gear and others were even carrying Confederate flags. So, they went in and looted the state offices, causing a lot of chaos in the Capitol building. In the end, after the incident, at least four people were confirmed dead.

　　As for how I felt about this piece of news, well, I am certainly deeply ashamed of America and its so-called democratic values. I mean, it seems unbelievable how a heavily armed mob could break into a government building, put everyone’s lives in danger, and do so much damage. Yet sadly, this was the sad reality of the Trump era. The former president encouraged many of his supporters to perform these acts of violence and defend him after the results of the election. The law enforcement was slow to act, and the pro-Trump mob ended up doing a lot of damage. Anyway, I’m really quite upset by this event, and I’m sure that January 6th, 2021 is a day that will be remembered in American history.
