　　So, to get things started, I’m going to talk about something that’s important to my family, and the first that comes to mind is our family photo album. My family has had this photo album for a long time—over thirty years, I think—so it’s quite old and dusty and worn-out, but it still holds many of our precious memories.

　　As for what the photo album is used for, well, I guess what photo albums are used for in general, to store, organise, and collect photographs. Photo albums are an excellent way to preserve family history and share those memories with other members of the family, especially the younger generation. Even though these days many of us have smartphones that can take pictures, it’s still nice to shuffle through a real photo album with physical traces of our memories.

　　I don’t actually recall exactly how my family got the photo album in the first place, since it’s so old, but I’m pretty sure they bought the photo album from a store. There are many stores that sell these kinds of photo albums, and sometimes you can even find them in a local marketplace.

　　Lastly, the photo album is important to my family because it’s a physical record and collection of all our memories together. It shows our shared moments of joy, excitement, love, and belonging. Even today, we still take photos of our family gatherings and try to fill up more pages in the photo album. So yeah, I think it will always be an important thing to my family.

　　Part 31) What kinds of items would a family keep for a long time?

　　I would say that families should try to keep things that are valuable or have some kind of deeper symbolism, like a special piece of jewellery or an anniversary gift.

　　2) Are there any differences between things that are important to a family now and in the past?

　　I guess in the past, families mostly appreciated objects that had a long or meaningful family history, whereas nowadays, families consider all kinds of different objects important, including small gifts.
