　　It is true that a number of countries spend a significant amount of money to make it easier to ride bicycles in their cities. There are various reasons for this, but I believe that it is just one of several good ways to solve transportation issues.Countries are investing in improving the cycling experience in their cities for a few reasons. First of all, many cities experience severe traffic congestion because there are simply too many people driving cars. If more people rode bikes instead, there would naturally be less traffic congestion. Secondly, reducing the amount of cars on the road helps improve the air quality in cities. Not only is this better for the environment, it also protects the health of citizens. Finally, improving bicycling infrastructure—though expensive—is still cheaper than building transportation systems such as subway lines and stations. Thus, improving bicycle use is perhaps the most cost-effective way to reduce traffic in cities.However, I believe that improving cycling infrastructure is not necessarily the best way to solve transport problems. On one hand, it is indeed effective at reducing traffic, and it does result in a more active and healthier population overall. However, it is equally important for countries to invest in other types of public transport because some places are just too difficult to reach by cycling. To truly solve its transport problems, a city should have a healthy mixture of bicycling lanes, bus services, and subway lines. It would ensure that the people have a convenient, cheap, and healthy way to travel anywhere in the city.In conclusion, I believe that countries are improving cycling infrastructure for good reasons, but it’s just as important for them to invest in other types of public transport as well.
