　　In modern society, people usually stay in school until they’re at least eighteen years old. However, there is some disagreement on whether this is actually necessary. In my opinion, it does benefit everyone to stay in school until they’re eighteen.On one hand, it can be argued that not everyone needs a high school education. Many people still work in professions that require more hands-on work, such as carpentry, blacksmithing and cooking. For people who are committed to these career paths, a high school education could end up being a waste of time. For instance, a teenager who is aiming to become a blacksmith could be training under a professional blacksmith instead of studying English literature. Additionally, not everyone has the luxury of staying in school until they’re eighteen. In poorer countries, some teenagers may have to start working at an early age to support their impoverished families.Nonetheless, I still believe that everyone should stay in school until they’re at least eighteen. The first reason is that a high school education is more important than almost anything else in life. It opens doors to a college education as well as higher-paying jobs. By contrast, people who drop out of school will have a harder life, as most jobs require at least a high school diploma. Not having one severely limits the potential for one’s career and ability to earn money. A high school education is a great investment even for those who go into skilled labour, such as blacksmithing. The reason is that people’s career paths change often, and having that diploma allows you to make a career switch one day.In conclusion, I believe that everyone should stay in school until they’re at least eighteen, as the benefits are simply too great to ignore.
