我校Annie老师投稿文章《Cultural differences》(文化差异)成功登报《21世纪英文报》，见报于2017-2018学年第30-31期。

　　本次见报的文章主要是Annie老师在德国留学期间所感受到的文化差异，原文如下：

　　Cultural differences

　　Early in the morning sitting on the balcony, I am enjoying my favorite meal — homemade Chinese dumplings with German beer. Every time I have this meal, I recall my adventure in Germany from a 19-year-old Chinese student to a 23-year-old global citizen. As a Chinese person, it was a challenge for me to adjust to German culture, as you will see by reading the anecdotes below.

　　Splitting the bill

　　My German friends and I went out for lunch at a cafe. They ordered something sweet while I waited my turn to order something spicy.

　　Now, the cultural difference did not arise from our different tastes in food, but in the way we chose to pay. I thought that since I was the last to order, I should offer to pay for all the food. Yet, after I paid for their food, I received some confused expressions instead of appreciation.

　　Whenever I eat out with my friends in China, it is considered polite for the one who calls for the check to pay the bill.

　　But my German friend told me that I did not have to pay for other people’s food in Germany. I realized that people in Germany usually pay for their own food, and the waiter normally asks if each person would like a separate check before he or she takes the order.

　　Shower time

　　The sun was bright one day, so I decided to go swimming. I want to have a quick shower before I swam. But when I got to the shower area, I was totally shocked.

　　All the girls were taking a shower in one big bathroom without any private compartments. I rushed away as soon as I could.

　　After my roommates heard what had happened, they were laughing, falling off their beds, and just said, “Welcome to Germany!”

　　To my continued shock, they explained that it is standard in German cultural to shower in front of others, no matter whether with friends or family. The same culture applies to boys also. In my hometown, people always shower and change separately. So this one cultural shock would take me, a girl from southern China, years to digest.

　　2、专业度

　　Annie(王莉娟)老师目前已拥有十年出国考试教学经验和高级教师资格证书，也是雅思和托福官方认证教师。

　　3、英语水平

　　Annie(王莉娟)老师持有BEC商务英语高级证书，雅思总分8分，阅读9分，听力8.5分;托福总分111分，阅读30分，写作29分。

　　雅思(英语：IELTS)

　　全称为国际英语测试系，是著名的国际性英语标准化水平测试之一。由英国文化协会、剑桥大学考试委员会和澳大利亚教育国际开发署(IDP)共同举办。

　　雅思成绩对应英语应用水平

　　0分(缺席考试者);

　　1分(非英语用者)不懂英语;

　　2分(间歇性用者)几乎没有英语能力者;

　　3分(极度有限用者)初学者;

　　4分(有限用者)能够应付英语国家的简单的日常生活;

　　5分(普通用者)能够使用英语在英语国家生活的使用者;

　　6分(有能力用者)能利用英语应付一般教育和接受一些工程类学科的使用者;

　　7分(上佳用者)能够使用英语接受高等教育的流利使用者;

　　8分(极好用者)接近于母语水平的英语使用者，可以用英语讲授专业知识给他人;

　　9分(专家用者)母语或英国语言学学者。

　　托福

　　由美国教育测验服务社(ETS)举办的英语能力考试，全名为"检定非英语为母语者的英语能力考试"。

　　TOEFL有三种，分别是: pbt-paper based test 纸考 677, cbt-computer based test 机考 300, ibt-internet based test 网考 120, 新托福满分是120分。

　　4、教学风格

　　Annie(王莉娟)老师从业十年，在教学方面拥有丰富的经验，个人教学风格也比较谦和，更倾向于通过自身的行事作风，传递一个正能量的积极向上的学习目的，带动学生去进行一个主动式的学习。

　　我始终认为教育不是为了改变一个人，而更多的是让他们成为一个更好的自己。
